Broadcom to pitch 'Connected Car' market at CES 2013

Broadcom Corp, a manufacturer of semiconductor offerings for wired and wireless communications, will demonstrate connectivity innovations for the automotive sector at the upcoming CES 2013 in Las Vegas next week.

The company says its new Connected Car Zone will feature wired and wireless technology demonstrations from Broadcom and automotive and technology partners that include Continental, Digital Design, XMOS and Freescale Semiconductor.

“Automotive has emerged as the next frontier for intelligent connectivity,” it said in a release. “For many consumers the car serves as a place where work, entertainment and safety technologies converge.”

Connected Car Zone demonstrations will include:

* Miracast Wi-Fi infotainment display

* Infotainment touch screen shares video over Wi-Fi to rear seat display

* Intelligent GPS navigation and Bluetooth technology

* Continental Advance Driver Assist and infotainment demonstration.
